Sunday Drabble- I saw this picture and the drabble attacked me. Enjoy!

Promise, the Kitten

When he proposed, I was elated. Thrilled and flabbergasted. Simply stunned.

There he was on my kitchen floor holding a beautiful brown and black flecked kitten. Around the neck of said adorable kitten was a ring.

I promised to marry him before he shipped out and we put a rush on everything. We planned and prepared and it all came together seamlessly. Not one single bump in the road.

Now as I stand on the beach at sunset, ready to walk down the sandy aisle with my dad, I think about how I really didn’t need that veil after all.
