Quiet is usually a good thing, a blessing, a kindness.
Sitting amongst the peace after business and stress, a beautiful moment.
When the quiet isn’t welcome, when you wish there were some noise,
It can be difficult to handle just the hum from the kitchen or a tick of the clock.
When you’ve read, watched, called, and done and now you sit alone without someone, your heart is too quiet.
A majority of my day is content and busy. A majority of my night is relaxing and calm.
There are in between moments though that cut at my heart. In between moments where no one is about. In between moments when I am unneeded. In between moments when I grieve for what I cannot have. In between moments for what I do not see ahead.
It’s hard to grieve for something you’ve never had. It is easy to know you miss something even if you have never had it.
